Help Debo Band Return to Africa
Ethiogroove collective Debo Band has been given the incredible opportunity to bring Ethiopian music for the first time to East Africa’s largest music festival: “Sauti za Busara” on the island of Zanzibar, February 11th-16th, 2010. The festival, now in its 7th year, draws over 18,000 attendees and showcases 30 performing groups from Africa and 10 groups from the rest of the world. They will bring with them 4 native Ethiopian musicians and dancers living in Addis Ababa. This is a major opportunity for Debo Band to reach a wider audience and make further connections and collaborations with music in Ethiopia and East Africa, while presenting Ethiopian music for the first time to this festival.
They've received a grant which only covers some of the cost, so they are now seeking (tax-deductible) donations to complete the budget and make this journey possible. Check out the link below to see what they're up to, and please pass this on to more people who would be interested in this project!

Thanks for the article. I very like that other artist is going to have this kind of fund raising.
