Where are you from? Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

What does your identity mean to you? It means a lot but then it can also mean nothing if you don’t identify with one particular thing/place and or culture. Identity to me is ever evolving and never static.

What/Who inspires you? My family inspire me. Loving, honest and bold people inspire me. Beautiful friendships inspire me. Freedom fighters inspire me. Traveling inspires me.

Where will you be in 10 years? I’ve been a nomad most of my life so there’s no telling where I will be but that’s half the fun of living.

Which disease do you think is most interesting? Why? I’ve never actually thought about this. Does ignorance count as a disease?

What is your favorite memory of all time? My senior year of college has got to be my all time favorite memory but I have plenty more. My first trip to Disney World at 7 years old, my trip to Morocco with the hommies……everyday is an opportunity to create a favorite memory.

What is your daily routine? It would be, struggle out of bed, shower, get ready, work, lunch, coffee break, end work, an ‘apero’ and then kick it with the lovely friends.

Are you a day or a night person? I’m more of a day person, but that doesn’t mean I can’t get down with the get downs at night and when need be.

If you had access to unlimited resources (people, money, etc.) what would you do? I would build women’s colleges around the world, help young Ethiopian entrepreneurs set up ‘shop’, create employment in Africa, I would take care of my family, travel the world and never work another day in my life.

Favorite Movie: Sound of Music (all time classic), Finding Nemo, Snatch, Water, Before Sunset, Amistad, Sarafina, City of God, Amandla and The Lake House. I can’t think of anymore right now.

Favorite Artist/Music: Let’s go for genre: Hip-hop, Afro Beat, Soulful House, Broken Beat, Jazz, Funk, Ethiopian jazz, Zouk, Reggae, Soft Rock.
