Ah yes the Chinese New Years is here. Worldwide it is being celebrated, and this year is the Year of the Monkey. Speaking of animals, in France, they are celebrating the Chinese New Year by lighting up the Eiffel Tower red. Wait a second, they are celebrating Chinese New Year? If I am not mistaken, this holiday is somewhat under the Chinese religion Theravada Buddhism which is practiced by 85% by the Chinese. They use the Lunar Calendar because of their Religious and Cultural traditions. But since China became the first country in the world to reach the 1 billion population mark, and 1 in every 6 person worldwide being Chinese, this celebration has become a tradition event celebrated worldwide.

Now in France we know that starting September of this year they will be banning Hijabs, Jewish caps, large Christianity crosses and so on and on. They assumed they did their research but they forgot the Sikh community. The Sikh members are trying to negotiate with the French government to let them keep their tradition of not cutting their hair and keeping their turbans on them. In England and Germany, police and army forces let them wear it during work. Hey, they’re the only ones who can ride motorcycles without helmets(check it out the rules).

I think France doesn’t realize what its doing. More and more, it seems religion is being seperated from everday life. We are being taught that religion and our lifestyle shouldn’t be mixed, when our parents generations and generations used life and religion together.
